This booth has been something I’ve wanted ever since I was a little girl. My Grandma and Grandpa Phillippi had a booth in their kitchen and i thought it was the coolest thing ever and i always said to myself I am going to have a booth in my kitchen someday! I mean when you go to a restaurant and they ask you if you’d rather have a table or a booth dont you always say booth? I don’t know about you, but I always do! there is just something about a booth that feels more casual yet intimate.
When we bought this house almost 15 years ago this bay window had me dreaming of my booth idea but it was just that all dreams. It wasn’t til Covid hit and had too much time on my hands that my dreams started to consume my thoughts So I started searching everywhere on the internet hoping i could somehow just find a premade booth or bench type thing that would work in the space, no such luck. Then i started searching for places that make restaurant booths and I stumbled upon American Booth Seating up in West Jordan, I reached out and explained to them what I wanted, we talked back and forth for months, we spoke before we even started thinking of the renovations in the house, I wanted to get an idea of how much and what all it entailed. I was fairly certain at some point I would be getting this booth, but i didn’t really think it would happen anytime soon, it was all still dreams until we started the kitchen renovations and I figured hey if we are doing this we might as well do it right! Carlos came out and measured and we got the ball rolling. I wasn’t in any rush because the house was all torn apart the first time he came out, but then I learned that thanksgiving would be held at our house this year so I messaged him and asked him if there was anyway we can get this booth done before Thanksgiving, he said it would be tight but he would see what he could do. At first I thought i could just find a table to go with it on my own but after hours and hours of searching I realized what i wanted and what would work would have to be a custom table, Carlos had a friend who agreed to make the table i wanted. What a fun project, it was so fun to be able to pick out the vinyl and style, then the table legs and style of that also. Carlos was able to bring and install the table and booth the morning of Thanksgiving! Wow I was so impressed with him, and the fact that he would come out on a holiday and do that for me! I would definitely use him again and refer anyone to him if they too have booth dreams like i did 😉
OH my gosh I was so giddy when they came to set this up I felt like a kid going to Disneyland for the first time! LOL I don’t know why but this booth makes me very happy.
Look at how much more space we have in the kitchen area now too.
we moved the other kitchen table to the front room for a more formal dining area, which really came in handy Thanksgiving day too, we were able to fit 18 people comfortably without having to rearrange any of our furniture… now that was a first!
