New Orleans (Day 1)

Every year Doug has to keep up on his CME’s (Continuing Medical Education) in order to keep his licence to be a Physician’s Assistant. He goes to the AAPA one which is a huge conference that they put on every year in different cities all over, I love it because I always tag along and we make a vacation out of it. It it awesome because we get to see places we probably wouldn’t go and see normally. We’ve been to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Diego, just to name a few. But this year it was in New Orleans and we were super excited about this one! I have always wanted to see what it was all about, but I probably never would have wasted actual vacation time to go there because lets face it, I am a beach and sun girl and that trumps all other places! LOL!

We didn’t arrive til around 7 pm Friday night and boy was the airport packed! We had just planned on catching a Uber when we got in, but because there was sooo many people trying to do the same thing, It would have cost us $100 for a maybe 25 minute ride to our hotel! So we went back into the airport to see about shuttles, well they were around $35 per person and the wait was over an hour, We headed to the limo stand thinking heck for these prices we will just rent a limo! Nope, no cars where available, our only other option was to wait in a line about a mile long to get a taxi ( No I am not exaggerating), and that’s what we ended up doing. It was pouring rain and it was hot and sticky by the time we got to our hotel we were exhausted! So our first night we just went downstairs to our hotel’s lobby and ordered us a pizza and got a few other snacks and called it a night! Not the way we envisioned our first night, but it was a fun adventure.

Stay tuned I will break our trip down by each day…
