Chemical Peel

My Good Friend Christi has the cutest daughter Kenya who is training to become a Master Aesthetician. Christi called me up and wanted to know if I would be willing to try a chemical peel with her, Chemical peels are supposed to do all kinds of awesome things to your skin, like help smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, reduce hyper-pigmentation, smooths out your skin texture and a whole bunch of other awesome things so of course I said Heck Ya! When she started telling us about the different types of peels she has, I am not going to lie, we both started to panic a little. She said the peel she wanted to do on us was a five berry peel. Of course we had all kinds of questions like will my face totally flake off, how soon can we wear make up, and all other sorts of questions because let’s be honest, putting chemicals on my face sounds super scary! I have never done one of these before so I was a bit nervous not so much about the procedure itself, but the outcome in a few days, but hey you only live once and after the week I was having I figured what’s a little flaking on my face in the grand scheme of things? right? You know what they say Beauty is pain or something like that, So I said let’s do this! Christi has to be out in the sun a lot this weekend so she opted for a little less strong option just in case. Christi went first. Her face when asked on a scale of 1 to 10 was at a 5 right out the gate, I thought on no, I am in for it. But she said it was very tolerable and she was totally fine.

So I was up next, she said mine would get a lot hotter than hers and we would do it in layers. We could stop at any time. So when she put the first layer on and she asked me on a scale of 1 to 10 I was fully expecting to be at like a 5 or 6 but I totally felt nothing. I was at maybe a 1. after that dried she applied the second layer, still no more than a 1? Strange right? So I did another layer and that maybe got to a 2, but nothing bad at all, I would have kept going but I really didn’t want to deal with a ton of flaking, so we decided to stop there,  but I totally could have, maybe next time, being it was my first time I don’t really know how my skin is going to react.

I was super relaxed, Kenya makes you feel very comfortable, she is very down to earth and easy-going which I totally dig about her, I am not one who feels super comfortable in big ol fancy places where everyone and everything is stale and stuffy looking. So I really appreciated that about Kenya.

** Here are the before pictures, can you tell I was a tad nervous? I couldn’t even take a normal picture! LOL
