So when you’ve been married for 28 years and you have no clue what to get your man, you do like most people do and go online and search 28 year anniversary gift just to see what the standard gift is for that year to try to get the wheels turning and you come to find out that there is No standard traditional gift for that year!?! What? Thanks alot Google! Ugh
But then I got lucky and I stumbled upon Isla & Ember Wedding bands online and I knew this is what I wanted to get Doug this year. Isla & Ember is a small company based out of Payson Utah. I love it when I can support local businesses. But then I started looking at their selection of rings and boy did I have a hard time picking which one! They were all so cool, I seriously couldn’t go wrong with any of them but I decided to go with the Antler and Koa wood Tungsten Ring. It is unique and cool… just like Doug 😉
What I didn’t realize until I was checking out is that 10% of every sale they make they will donate to a default charity of “water” or if you want to send it to another charity you just leave it in your notes which charity and they will take care of it! How cool is that? I love it when companies give back like this one does.
From their website…”Did you know 1 out of 10 people in the world do not have access to clean water? This results in sicknesses and diseases killing more than 3.5 million yearly. ”
Whoa, I didn’t know this!! I for sure made sure I kept my donation to the default of Water Charity! It’s always a good reminder for me that we are so fortunate to live where we do and to have the simple things like clean running water in our homes. I am thankful that there are people out there who are trying to make a difference in the world and I love that my purchase could help if even in just a small way.
So back to the ring…I was pleasantly surprised when this arrived in the mail I mean look how cool this is, I would say it is perfectly wrapped for a man.
I love the fire wax seal stamp and the personal note! It’s the little things that make such a difference. Everything about the way it is presented you can tell it is made for a man and I love that! Doug actually noticed this too.
How cool this ring is??? I love it! I surprised Doug with it at lunch, he wasn’t happy with me at first because we promised no gifts this year, we have partied a lot this year and decided we didn’t need to do anything for each other… but He deserves it so much, and he works so hard for our family I figured I would break the rules a little! I loved surprising him with this! I asked him if he would marry me all over again, I was relieved he said yes! Whew! LOL
Even though I wasn’t supposed to get him anything, I think he secretly is happy I was a rebel! LOL So for those of you wondering what the gift is for 28 years of marriage, I say a new classy wedding band for your man works pretty good!
