Nashville, Tennessee

I’m finally getting around to writing about our trip to Nashville. Before we left I wasn’t sure how much I would like Nashville because I pictured everywhere we went would have twangy country music playing and if you know me at all, you know that country music is some of my least favorite music. Now don’t get me wrong I do like some of it, but it’s just not my top choice in music, especially the old twangy stuff I really cant stand that. So my expectations were pretty low, but I was pretty excited to wear my cowboy boots I bought when I was in Texas 5 years ago that I have never even worn! We also had our good friends Greg and Lucie joining us so I knew we would have fun!

Doug and I got in a day before Greg and Lucie and we got there right at dinnertime, we were hungry and decided to go find a place to eat. The lady at the front desk told us how to get to Broadway and that there would be plenty of choices there. I didn’t realize that was where all the Honky Tonk bars were! Man was It bustling and so so loud! We wandered around for a while and finally found a place to eat, the live music was sooo loud we could only point out our orders off the menu to our waitress because there was no way we could hear each other, it was crazy! But what I loved about it was that they were playing all kinds of music and taking requests for songs and they were not all country songs which made me very happy! After dinner we started walking around and checking out the whole scene, I was in heaven, live music is one of my favorite things and it was everywhere! Ya this week was going to be so much fun! I quickly realized I was totally in my element and all my worries about not liking it were gone!!

The next day we met up with Greg and Lucie, we decided to try out Twelve Thirty ( Justin Timberlake’s place). We ended up on the rooftop Patio, They had a smaller menu and a DJ playing music, I loved the atmosphere. The food was ok… it was my fault I totally ordered the wrong thing, but we had a good time.

It was rainy and a little colder that day so we just walked around and checked everything out. we ended up ducking into a little Karaoke place called Wanna Be’s and hung out in there for a few hours just singing along with everyone, they had the words on screens all around the place which made it even better to sing along to, one of my all time favorite things to do. I could sit there all day.

Later that night we ended the day at a place called Ole Red which is Blake Shelton’s place. It was packed but we managed to get a table so we didn’t want to leave and give up our spot so we spent the rest of the night there. They had a couple of amazing live bands there that we really enjoyed!

lol can you tell I am loving it? Thanks for the video Lucie!

The next day we decided to check out the area called The Gulch. I had heard there is over 300 murals in Nashville so we decided to try to find some. We didn’t find as many as we thought we would but it was a fun little area to see. We ended up eating at a place called The Pub, it was pretty good and our waiter was wearing a Kilt so that was fun! LOL

This post is getting pretty long I think I will end it for now, I have so much more to post about! We LOVED Nashville!!
