Cozumel, Mexico (Cozumel Palace)

My sister Nancy texted me out of the blue one day back in like March I think and asked if Doug and I would like to go to Cozumel with them for a week in October, with how long the winter was I don’t think it took us very long to decide! LOL Who am I kidding, I have a hard time saying no to any vacation but especially warm beach vacations!! When we booked it, October seemed soo far away, I can not believe it has already come and gone!

We have been to Cozumel multiple times but this was the first time it was’nt just a day stop on a cruise itinerary. We stayed at the Cozumel palace. It was a smaller resort, but we actually kind of liked that. It felt like there was not many people there at all, so it had a very chill vibe. I loved that we did’nt have to wake up early in the mornings to reserve our chairs out by the pool and there was no restaurant reservations to make, in fact we never had to wait for a table at any of the restaurants. October is hurricane season so i think that is why it was so slow, but we got lucky and had beautiful weather the whole time! ( well it rained twice for a few hours, but then back to beautiful sunshine)

We did a lot of just relaxing and hanging by the pool, massages, manicures and pedicures, in fact this was Doug’s very first ever mani/pedi! I’ve been trying to get him to go with me for years, after he said, I can see why people like these! LOL!! I knew he would like it!

On one of the days the guys decided to go golfing and Nancy and I would go to the spa. There is’nt a golf course on Cozumel so we took the Ferry over to Playa Del Carmen. With the Palace resorts you can go to all of the different resorts and eat and use the facilities, so we decided to have breakfast at the Playa Palace resort before heading to The Grand Moon Palace which is in Cancun, our cousin Stacey is a travel agent and happened to be touring the resort at the time, So we got so lucky and ran into her! How cool is that!?

We then drove to The Grand Moon Palace where the guys played 18 and we had 80 minute massages and then another manicure, this time a gel one ( the first one we only did regular polish and both of ours were already chipping bad!) When we were done we headed back to Playa Palace to eat dinner then take the Ferry back to Cozumel.

Another fun thing we did this trip was take a submarine ride. I’ve always wanted to do that, because the odds of me every scuba diving is zero to none, and this is the next best thing! We went down to 101 feet! If I thought about it too much it would freak me out, but it really was’nt scary at all and bonus we did not have to get wet to see the bottom of the ocean!

This was such a fun and relaxing trip, nothing was planned in advance and we just played it by ear which made for a very stress free vacation! I’m already day dreaming about booking my next adventure!
